Off-Page SEO Techniques (6)

After taking the midterm and talking about it today in class, I have been drawn to off-site SEO (also known as off-page SEO) and I’ve been curious to how one executes the strategy besides gaining backlinks. To learn more, I found an article on Semrush Blog called “What is Off-Page SEO? A Guide to Off-Page SEO Strategy”. In the article, the blogger writes about both on-page and off-page with a focus more on off-page. In the off-page section of the blog, the blogger provides five techniques to execute off-page SEO. The most interesting technique to me is the Content Marketing technique which is the second technique presented in the blog.

Starting off with the first technique to off-page SEO, Link Building and backlinks were presented. This is the area that I am most familiar with, so I am not going to spend any more time on this.

The second technique to off page SEO is Content Marketing. Following backlinks, the second tool is Content Marketing. Content Marketing is a great way to earn media from other pages, but the article dives deeper into Content Marketing. The blog highlights seven tools which are Digital PR, Social Media, Influencer Marketing, Guest Posting, Podcasts, Content Syndication, and Forums.

The third technique to off-page SEO is Local SEO. Similar to Content Marketing, Local SEO added Google Business Profile Management and NAP SEO (Name, Address, Phone number) to the technique as tangible ways to increase credibility from sites other than your own.

The fourth technique is Reviews. Reviews are an effective technique due to their ability to increase credibility. As I am sure you are aware, Reviews are personal testimonies to advocate for a product or company, which is why they hold in value due to their ability gain credibility.

The fifth and final technique is Events. Events are a technique that create buzz and hype around a company. Events drive traffic for various reasons, but they also drive traffic from different platforms. For example, you could have off-page posts on social media pages, videos on YouTube, and blogs on websites all about or covering the events that hold.

These are interesting techniques. You do not hear about reviews and events being talked about nearly as much. I think these are all crucial when considering SEO.

Good post! I think it is crucial to recognize that SEO doesn’t have to be complicated or hard. Simple things like reviews make a big difference. Sometimes it is the overlooked tactics that don’t get utilized, but make a huge difference
