Some people think that there shouldn’t be much money spent on SEO and it really is not that important. They might think that they have all the customers they need coming to their website, or maybe they do not prioritize a digital presence at all. It is important to deep dive into reasons people may ignore SEO and address these issues.

There are many “Black Hat SEO” practices that are basically unethical ways of tricking people to go to certain websites and do certain actions. The right people that do SEO in a moral way will never trick someone, yet simply give them the solutions that they are looking for.
SEO is important because it helps any business put their name out there to potential customers that need their services. People use a company and buy something because of the benefits it gives them. SEO is what helps bring that benefit to a customer. Some older generations might not realize that SEO is so important because they do not fully understand it. If you are someone who does not realize what it truly is, you must educate yourself on it because in a world of so many websites that utilize SEO, you will fall behind your competitors.

I agree that there is a negative stigma to SEO from older generations that did not grow up with the internet. Though this is understandable, it is important to break down the myths in order to learn how to best optimize a site. Thankfully there are so many free ways to learn more about SEO!
SEO certainly does seem to be an area of selling and content creation that seems to fly under a lot of peoples radar, which is a little surprising considering just how much of a game changer selling things online can be for businesses. I think an understanding of how important SEO is begins with an understanding of what SEO is, and I think you put this well.
