Backlinko gives a complete SEO checklist that I found truly helpful. Not everything on the list must be followed to do well but the list contains important bits for SEO success. This is a great list for people who do not know where to start when optimizing their site. This could also be for experienced people who want more traffic, or people who have a lot of content and do not know how to narrow down their information (Backlinko).
First on the list is to set up google search console. It is a free tool designed to fix issues on your site, to create a sitemap, and to see what keywords bring the most traffic (Backlinko). This is a great tool that should be downloaded and well help you optimize your site.
The second recommendation on the list is to install Bing Webmaster tools. I found it interesting that Backlinko recommended Bing. Backlinko was saying they are not as popular as Google but have over 100 million daily active users.
The third step is to set up Google Analytics. It is an effective tool to see how people interact with your site.Some pounds that Google Analytics lets you do is see traffic from Google, find pages on your site that bring the most traffic, and understand the average engagement (Backlinko).
The fourth step is to install Yoast SEO (WordPress and Shopify). Yoast makes it easy for people to optimize their website and is the most popular plugin. Yoast can also be used for Shopify. This is also a great plugin for beginners that do not have much experience in making sites.
Backlinko provides a good checklist for people who want to optimize their site. With giving information about Google Analytics and plugins, one can learn, grow, and improve their site.
