According to Neal Schaffer, 80% of people prefer videos over written text. That means that only 20% of people want words. Do you want 20% of your audience to be engaged with your content or 80%? Are you more likely to click on a bunch of words or a video? What is your reasoning behind your decision?

Videos are memorable

Do you ever catch yourself thinking about something and then remember a video that related to it that you watched? Maybe it was an educational video or an entertaining sketch. Instead of the mind having to imagine, it is shown what it needs to understand. Videos leave an impact on your brain because once you see something with your eyes, the picture is in your head; sometimes forgotten but often remembered. Videos are easy to visualize, because it is already shown to you, and extremely memorable.

Videos are easy to understand

How often are you stuck on something you cannot understand, and you look it up on YouTube? YouTube is filled with helpful tutorials, vlogs, and entertainment content. Videos that aim to explain a concept often have words in them, which engages both the 80% and the 20% of the audience. Neal Shaffer also states that customers retain 95% of the information contained in videos. Videos help people retain information better! Why not use them to your advantage and have your audience understand your content better. Videos significantly improve the ability to understand a piece of information.

Videos provide trust

Words can describe but they cannot show what something looks like. To fully convey your point, you must show your audience what you mean to tell them. Words can help, but video is vital. A video displays a stronger trust between the company and the consumer. Neal Shaffer states that 96% of buyers utilize videos as a means to gain knowledge about a specific product or service. Customers trust a video. Videos provide the right information and show it to the audience which builds and sustains trust between the two parties.
