This includes the black hat or white hat approach. Hidden text is when keywords or links are hidden on a page by using invisible fonts or hiding links in code. Both these practices are easily traceable and not allowed by the algorithm. 

The ethical and essential technique is crucial for ranking higher is White hat. This has many advantages because it allows for sustainable growth, no penalties from Google, and a better user experience. The downside is the longevity it takes to see results. This process is slower but has long term success. Three techniques for this process are quality content creation, building links naturally, and proper on page optimization. All three of these process are beneficial and improve rankings organically.
