The article I looked at for my blog post added two subjects: Search engine optimization and Design. With my major being design and innovation, this article was very interesting to me, and with my design classes, everything seems to be clicking. The article talked about how even the best-looking website without good SEO can fall flat and not be found. The article gave tips and tricks on how to combine both Design and SEO. SEO should not be something you add on later, but rather something you are thinking about as soon as you decide to make a website. They suggest using platforms such as Squarespace and WordPress to make SEO easier on the designer. Usually, simple designs are more SEO friendly. The second tip the article gives us is to use keywords, but keep everything classy. When you find those niche keywords, make sure you use them naturally. Keywords are part of your brand voice, so use those words naturally and use common words that people would know and that you want to represent you and your brand image. The third tip given was to optimize your images without losing quality. It is very common for photos on websites to become smooshed when switching from a computer to a mobile device. It is also common for images to not appear that is why it is important to add alt text. The fourth tip given to use is to create content that supports your brand and searchability. A good way to do this is to increase your blog posts and add SEO-rich content that keeps people on your website. The fifth and final tip that is given to us is that we shouldn’t neglect our megadata. Remember that the little things and small words on our website make a huge difference and matter in the eyes of the search engine.

This is so true, I am also a design and innovation major and it is eye opening to know I could make the best looking website, but without optimizing, it will not be successful.
