Blog Post #3
My inspiration for building my mother website and Brand is Teil art. I read an article about how word press works and how many services it offers. It reminded me about how UX elements she uses. Teil is an artist that my mom really admires who is more established in the art world. She does a really good job coordinating her brand to in line with different categories of product she offers. Her brand is very colorful and whimsical. Her art is very distinctive and differentiated from other artists.
I saw on one a video that she made on the front of her sight and was inspired to make the same type of content for my mom. I want to eventually learn how to insert video into WordPress, so I looked up ways to do this.
One way is through a YouTube account. My mom doesn’t run a YouTube channel but if she did and posted video to it frequently this would be a good option to optimize consistency over both channels. “Navigate to YouTube, Vimeo, or whichever video platform the video you want to embed is on. Then Copy the video’s complete URL from the address bar. Finally, Paste the video’s URL directly into your WordPress page’s visual editor, and WordPress will automatically detect and embed the video.”
Another option is to add embedded code from a video platform. This way makes it so users can be flexible when it comes to presenting aesthetics. It allows users to have privacy control and the ability to copy the HTML code with player and auto play options. “Go to the video you want to embed on Vimeo (or another video hosting platform. Click the “Share” button and copy the embed code in the pop-up. In WordPress, open the post or the page where you want the video to appear. Add a “Custom HTML” block in the WordPress editor. Paste the embedded code in WordPress directly into the block. Preview the page to make sure the video displays correctly, then publish your changes.”
I think I would pick the second option for my mother’s website since the advantages are the custom features and being able to track the performance of the videos. As marketers it will tell us if the content is tracking our target audience.

Great post! This is very helpful for me as I start thinking more about how I am going to build my website. I agree and would choose the second option because I like that you are able to track the performance of the videos. That can be a great insight for determining how to adjust my content and website to be more useful to those who are searching.
