Local SEO is, in my opinion, what most coaches should focus on. However, local SEO only goes so far if there isn’t quality content already on the website. Essentially, coaches just have to keep it simple!
Something we always learn about is SEO should be user focused. In this case, it should be player focused. I think local coaches should definitely include or show reasons why they are “the best” local coach, but definitely not at the cost of losing their focus. Keep it about the players.
