In today’s technologically centered world, the use of the internet is only increasing. In an article by ScienceDirect, they state that 93% of internet traffic is managed by search engines. This is a very high percentage, and because of this, the need for the optimization of search engines is only increasing. They dive into the fact that the most important part of defeating competition is by optimizing your own websites. By doing this, you make yourself more discoverable and make yourself far more noticeable than any relevant competition. If you can hone in on optimizing your search engines, then it puts you at a major advantage to competition, as you expect your website to be displayed first. Search engines are the largest source of access to info on the internet, and have gained so much more importance and significance in the past years. Google has made it easy to innovate and accommodate to new factors in SEO, and has made it possible to fight spam sites.
ScienceDirect conducted an experimental analysis to further explore the statistics on Search Engine Optimization. During this experiment, they found that the usability of the website will greatly affect the frequency and duration of visits to the site. In their experiment, they created a website that has great search engine optimization tools, and focuses on user experience. During their studies, they found that websites must be designed primarily for the user, and then for the search engine, but at the end of the day, the two of them go hand in hand.
Overall, I found that search engine optimization is extremely important to websites and ultimately can be crucial in the success of a business and how it withstands against it’s competition. By creating a website that prioritizes user experience, you are increasing your search engine optimization, and ultimately making your website stand out against competition.
