Search Engine Optimization isn’t just about your keywords and phrases. One of the largest parts of building a good site is Content Development. It is essential to the relevance of the page. You can have all the keywords in the world but if you don’t have strong content, writing, and media backing up the keywords and phrases, its all for naught.

Content is the meat of your site. It is 90-95% of what is going to be available on your site since we only want a small portion of our keywords and phrases to be actually a part of the website. Old school SEO tells us that stuffing a site with keywords is the best way to get clicks, but in the modern age of Web Development, we know that natural keyword targeting is best. Trying to optimize your site and trick the search engine just won’t work. Nowadays we need to really target our content and the use of natural keywords to create an optimized site rather than just focusing on those few important words.

One main thing to remember when creating the content for your site is that the “Relevance for users trumps everything else.” Putting content on the site just for the sake of content will backfire horribly. Putting intentional content that is relevant to the themes and keywords of the site and makes cohesive sense is best for putting the needs of the user first. Users are king, so our writing for content should be user first.

Content can be tricky to get down, but as long as you remember that writing for the user is king, and avoiding being spammy with your keywords is the golden duo to finding the right balance of content, and Search Engine Keyword Optimization.

This is a great summary of what we talked about in class regarding content development. It has so much to do with SEO for websites because it’s how we apply everything we’ve talked about with keywords. They have to be targeted via the content published to sites, which is how companies practically execute “going after” the keywords they want. Good job!

This is a great post that summarizes how it is effective and important to have content on your website. Content is certainly the meat. Content is like the chicken of Chick-Fil-A. I also like your reminder that the user is king. The user is why the website was created. To assist the user in their search on the internet.
