Do you think of SEO and Content Marketing as two completely separate things? Well, they are different things, but they overlap and work together more than you might think!
Content Marketing
Content marketing is more focused on, well, content and marketing. According to Semrush, content marketing is “the process of planning, creating, and sharing valuable content to attract and engage a specific audience.” Content marketing focuses on solving problems and answering questions through quality content.
Content comes in many different forms, such as blog posts, infographics, videos, podcasts, and more. And, it can be in different places, not just your website. You can create content for social media in the form of photo or video posts. A couple of other types of content are guest posts for others’ websites and curated content on your own website.
SEO
SEO, or search engine optimization, according to Google Search Central, is “about helping search engines understand your content, and helping users find your site and make a decision about whether they should visit your site through a search engine.” Part of on-page SEO is creating content that will allow search engines to have a better understanding of the content of your website and provide searchers with valuable information.
How They Overlap
Overall, while content marketing and SEO are two different things, they can and do overlap when it comes to website content. An important part of both SEO and content marketing is answering searchers’ questions and providing them with quality content to answer their questions. Whenever optimizing a website, you need to have good content. And, when making content, you need to make sure that the content contains relevant keywords for SEO purposes. So, SEO and content marketing go hand-in-hand.

Excellent insight! I love how you concisely married the two ideas in a simple, yet understandable way
Great job on this post, I really enjoyed your thoughts on how content marketing and SEO work hand in hand. I definitely agree that they not only work together but a lot of times rely on each other to maximize the best user experience. Well done!
This is very insightful content, especially your final thoughts on how the two overlap! It is a must for a website to meet the needs of the searcher and answer their questions. Marketing in general is finding out what people want and then giving it to them and so for SEO and Content Marketing, this principle must remain evident throughout their efforts on their website.
Great explanation! I agree SEO and content marketing definitely work best when used together. It’s interesting how quality content not only helps engage audiences but also supports better rankings when it’s optimized the right way. They really do go hand-in-hand.
