What Is An Action Shot?
An action shot is a type of photo that is taken during the play. Theses are typically not standing photos, but rather an athlete DOING something. Catching a pass, scoring a goal, making a big hit etc. If the photo can be described as an athlete doing an athletic feat, it's an what we're looking for.
Top 3 Different Action Shots
- The Big Scoring Shot
- This one is quite obvious, but never fails to impress. This can be taken many different ways. Whether hitting a big 3 point shot, running in for a touchdown, or shooting to score, any type of "scoring" play is always a highlight. Theres something so satisfying as capturing the exact moment the team erupts, and the game momentum shifts. The energy and emotion in scoring is truly unrivaled
- The Defensive Stop Shot
- Similar to the Scoring shot, there is just something amazing about making a big play to shut the other team down. The offense always gets the glory, while the defense has the world on their backs to get the O a chance. Highlighting a play like this is a great narrative for the backbone of the team, and seeing the team erupt for the D after a big stop is pretty fun to catch too!
- The Mid-Play Shot
- Not all action shots have to be some big play. Sometimes just catching a small piece of action can tell a great narrative too. Hanging on to the massive highlights can often dilute the other pieces of the game that are just as important. The mid-run shot is one of my favorites, but this can be any type of interesting play. Big contact between the offensive and defensive lines, a sweet dribbling move, or a big pass can be underrated ways to highlight the action of the game within your shots.
