With the rise of ChatGPT and Bing AI Chat, more content than ever is being generated via artificial intelligence. And though AI saves a lot of time, Google is not too fond of it as a content creator. In 2023, Google is expected to crack down on AI generated content, and instead favoring (and therefore, ranking) content with a human author. And not only that, but Google has also been valuing experience in its content authors more than ever before. Meaning that an author is expected to be well-versed and have real-world experience in what they’re publishing to deliver the best information and build trust with search engine users.
Since Google’s recent focus on experienced authorship, its best for website-builders to clearly communicate not only their humanity but also their knowledge. This can be done through a detailed “About Us” page or author bio that includes awards, accomplishments, experience, and anything else that strengthens your credibility. This can also be accomplished through adding an author’s social media links to the page. Google will recognize such links and understand that the author is, in fact, a real person. It is also important, specifically for posts, articles, or in-depth written works, to include a small author bio on each article page or beside each piece of content.
Although not all site content shows clear authorship (product pages, for example), it is still critical, especially in 2023, that Google knows that the content creator is human and a reliable human. Otherwise, you may find that your page does not rank.
