AI in SEO and Staying Ahead of the Curve

To say that technology is constantly improving and evolving would just sound like a broken record, but that’s because it is consistently true. This is absolutely true for SEO, and especially so due to the recent drastic improvements of AI and its accessibility to be implemented in almost endless areas of technology. Just as it has been important to remain diligent in staying ahead of the curve regarding the ways in which SEO is evolving in the past, it is especially relevant now with the changes AI brings to SEO.

Alex Bider in his article How AI Will Revolutionize The Future Of SEO highlighted some of the changes AI will bring. One of these changes is AI’s ability to improve the algorithms that search engines like Google currently use, and that as AI is better implemented we can expect better and better understanding from search engines in regards to users and their questions. The implementation of AI will also improve predictive SEO. Predictive SEO involves using AI to attempt to predict almost every aspect of SEO. Predictive SEO is particularly helpful for businesses to forecast upcoming trends and stay ahead of the curve in the creation of content and appealing to their target audience. Alex Bider points out another interesting change that AI brings to SEO; an increase in voice searches. With the steady improvement and increasing use of AI voice search tools such as Alexa and Google Assistant, SEO must be adapted to fit searches done through voice search, which typically uses more natural language and less of just keywords.

These are just a few examples of how AI is spurring on the perpetual cycle of technology evolving and improving. The bottom line is that if we are to become well versed in SEO, it is not something that can be learned in a month then practiced in the same way as the time we learned it, we must instead continuously be aware of the changes that evolving technologies bring to SEO and remain diligent in keeping up with the changes, or even better, stay ahead of the curve.

    It will certainly be interesting to see how search changes in the next few years as companies get the hang of harnessing the power of AI. If companies are able to adapt and start working now, then they will for sure be ahead of the curve in a few years!
