Before you’ve had your first job in SEO, it can be hard to know how to build your resume and expertise. SEO certifications can help give you knowledge and experience. Plus, they can also show potential employers that you are both dedicated and driven to learning more about SEO. In this blog article, we’ll go through three certifications that can hone your skills and keep you competitive.

Hubspot Certification

Hubspot’s SEO certification is a free course that goes over the basics of SEO for beginners and seasoned individuals looking to improve their SEO strategies. In addition to this course, Hubspot has a variety of other, relatively short, courses, such as a course on Business Blogging, Search Insights, SEO content strategy, and more! To complete these, you can head to Hubspot Academy, a wing of Hubspot, an organization which has a wide range of content and tools for digital marketers, many of which are free and available to users.

Google SEO Certifications

Google Skillshop has several SEO certifications that span across different areas of a business’ search marketing efforts. The Google Analytics certification is a common certification in the industry and helps SEO experts learn how to interpret search data and find ways to apply it to their SEO efforts. However, all of these classes and certifications can be very useful for digital marketers, and the more you learn, the better! You can find these classes on Google Skillshop, where they are available for free. Plus, many of them are short enough to complete in a day!

SEMrush Certification

SEMrush academy has a variety of courses taught by industry experts. These courses cover a range of topics, within SEO, like beginner SEO, Youtube search trends, and more! So, why take these courses? Because SEMrush contains valuable tools for digital marketers, and is also a well known name in the digital marketing community. Also, they’re free for all users, and cover wide down to niche topics.

All of these certifications can help you hone your SEO skills and show future employers your expertise. Click on one of the links above to check them out!

This was such a helpful post and contains lots of information that would be great to come back to in the future! I would be really curious to know what the make up of the participants tends to be, if its mostly students that are trying to boost resumes, students required for class, professionals required to complete for their work, small business owners, etc? They definitely provide many relevant resources to continue being a life long learner.

This is one of the most relevant posts I’ve seen! I remember hearing about some of these certifications in a class at the beginning of the semester, but I never thought of how they might actually be able to help with job searching and validating what we’ve learned in this course. I wonder how much recruiters know about these certifications and if they do help.
