SEO may be something foreign to users. They may think only business should focus on it, however it is just as important for a user to pay attention to it. You can find what you need in little time and find the best option if you know a little more about SEO and follow these tips.
- Using Search Filters and Tools
- Utilize certain features like filters to filter a certain time frame, area, or type of content. Express to the search engine what you really want. Whether that’s a local place, a video, or blog from a certain year. Make sure to recognize what you need and express that to ramp up your search.
- Search Using Keywords
- Make your searching phrases efficient by using keywords that are specific enough to the need that you have. Website owners do research to find people like you and what keywords you search for, so if you use the right words, you will easily find what website you need. Instead of just searching for a general term, use specific terms like specific to your location or time. Instead of searching “breakfast” you could search “breakfast place in Pittsburgh open Sunday morning”
- Avoid SEO Traps and Clickbait
- Some people try to trap you and trick you into clicking on their content. Learn to recognize bad titles and misleading descriptions or wordings. A good rule of thumb is: if it’s too good to be true, it probably is not accurate. Clickbait titles will have overstimulating words, lack of specific words, and promises that seem very unrealistic. Some content is bad just because there is not much effort put into them, it is not worth your time to pay attention to it and fall into the trap. Becoming good at recognizing these traps will help you filter out bad content and find what is what you truly need.
SEO is aimed at user and desires to get a user’s attention. With so many things trying to get your attention on the internet, being mindful of how to efficiently search will help you become a better user and get what you need faster.

Good job! I liked these tips and tricks specifically avoiding unethical SEO practices.
Great post! We have mostly been thinking about SEO from a business/marketing perspective in class, so it is interesting to change perspective and see it from the user’s point of view. As searchers, we should be thinking more about how we phrase our queries, so that we get the results we want more efficiently.
