It is! User Experience, also referred to as UX, is important when it comes to SEO. Following our lecture today in Search Engine Optimization, I looked deeper into the weight that UX holds. Having a beautiful website is important but as we know, there is a lot more that goes into it. Semrush has a great blog about the importance and relationship between User Experience and SEO. I simply want to highlight some the key takeaways for the best practices when it comes to UX.
Best Practices To Enhance User Experience
Starting off, it is important to understand that in order to get ranked in a favorable position, you must have a good UX score. Websites cannot have a bad UX and get ranked, Google will simply not allow it. To remain in the clear, make sure your website is designed in a structured and logical manner. Performance by loading quickly and functioning properly is also very important. In addition, Google has a priority on websites being functional for mobile devices as well so websites must be designed to perform on all device platforms. Without any of these aspects being met in the eyes of Googles algorithm, websites will not even be considered for a favorable rank.
In addition, content is another huge aspect that Google looks at so it is important to offer content that is relevant to the user. Google can index the quality of content produced by a website. Relevancy of content and the easiness to read the content is crucial. Without quality content, searchers will not stay long on the page. This is detrimental because Google tracks clicks and time spent on websites. A lack in users interacting with a website will be deemed as irrelevant by Google. Irrelevancy, as we know, is correlated with bad UX and bad UX leads to poor rank.

Really solid points here, I especially liked the reminder that a good-looking site isn’t enough. Fast load times, mobile responsiveness, and clear content all play a big role in how users (and Google) see your site.
Great post! User experience is so pinnacle and it’s great to see how different factors play into the importance of how Google ranks your site and views your site. Thanks for an intriguing post!
I liked that you emphasized how it is important for a site to look good, but only if it is also functioning well and adding to the overall positive UX. Both are important! Great post.
I really liked your breakdown of how UX impacts SEO! It’s so true that design and functionality are crucial for ranking, especially when it comes to mobile-friendliness and content quality. The reminder that Google tracks user interaction really highlights the importance of both good design and relevant content for a website’s success.
