The Effect of Slow Websites on SEO and Visibility

In an age where visibility matters a lot for websites, questions come up about SEO and AI. Can they coexist together? Is one bad for the other? As the digital age continues, businesses have been adapting to make the best possible decisions for their websites. When a website is created through WordPress, it can be easy to get excited about something new and fresh. But a slow website can cause problems with the SEO of the site, along with the AI visibility. Speed matters so much in this day and age, so when we have AI-powered search platforms that deliver people with information, a slow website is not ideal. Visitors will not wait for the site to load. As this generations attention-span decreases, the slower the site, the less interaction visitors will have with the website. 79% of shoppers who experience performance issues say they will not return to buy again (Orlandi 2026).

There are certain ways to make sure this does not happen. Watch the Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), and make sure it hits under 2.5 seconds, and you are all set. Visit Google;s PageSpeed Insights tool, compare your Core Web Vitals results to your industry’s CWV baseline and figure out which one is lower. Why is it slower? Check unused plugins and images on the website, along with modifying the code of the website. Then download specific plugins that will help with the speed of the site.

Overall, staying up to date with how visible a business’s website will be very important for the growth and success of the website. It is also very important to keep the website fresh and quick, and to be constantly learning more about SEO in this changing digital world.

This is a really interesting topic! And one that’s becoming increasingly more relevant with the rise of AI in our daily lives. You raised some really great questions such as can SEO and AI coexist and how. I believe the answer to this lies in the motivation behind using AI. If AI is being utilized ethically and honorably to improve SEO then I see no real issue with it, but if it is being abused to spam keywords in order to rank higher on search results with meaningless information on the site, then that is unacceptable. Great job on this post!
