Though the title may lead you to think this, I am not selling pain. The title, “Pain for Sale” is simply short for, “pain for the purpose of sale.” If you think about it, every product is the solution to some sort of pain point for the customer. Every. Product. Let’s think of something simple…say, nail polish. If I am in the market for nail polish, my pain point could be that I feel like my outfits are not complete without cute nails to match. It could be that I’m severely self-conscious about my bare nails. Anyway, you get the point. Every purchase is based on curing some pain, whether big or small.
Though we were taught this is Sales, it applies to Search Engine Optimization, too. If people can not find that your product is their solution for pain, how are you supposed to get any sales? Obviously, keywords are hugely relevant to this. If someone has a pain point, they are likely to look it up on the internet. If enough people have the same pain point that your product solves, there must be some sort of keyword relevance out there for it.
But, as we have learned, keyword stuffing is not a good practice for SEO. Sprinkling keywords throughout your site is a great idea, and expanding on your chosen “pain angle” and solution is a great way to add to your site’s authority and helpfulness.
A few ways you can focus your site on the solution aspect of your product is to include testimonials, blog posts, your personal story, and maybe even incorporate the pain point into an FAQ page!

Pain points are the crux of every business venture, even in choosing the right nail polish. For me, it always comes back to wearing the right shoes with every outfit. If the shoes don’t match (even if they fit well), it throws the whole outfit off for me. Great post!
I really liked the idea of including the pain point in the faq’s I have noticed some business use the faq pages as the questions I am sick of answering page rather than a part of their conversion and sales funnel.
I really like how you put this into perspective! I love the nail idea, that is a smart way to put things, everything does have a pain point!
