SEO Backlink Strategies

When other websites refer to another website and consumers click the link to the other website, the link is called a backlink. One of the main ways Google ranks sites and raise SEO is through backlinks. Each time someone clicks on the link that redirects to your website, the search engines read each click as a sign of trustworthiness. The more backlinks a website has, the more likely to be found when a user searches for the keyword. Search engines value large volumes of backlinks because it measures trust.

Google value large volumes of backlinks because it measures authority. For example, a website with high traffic who mentions your website will increase your SEO more than a small business who mentions your website.

Search engines can also gauge whether a website is relevant or not to the searcher’s intent. Engines may use the content on another website that mentions your website to measure how relevant the site is. If someone’s cooking website mentions cookbooks, the writer may include a link to a bookstore. The bookstore linked on the cooking website would signal to engines that the bookstore is related to cookbooks.

Whenever I think of backlinks, I don’t think I’ve ever thought about linking infographics in my posts. That’s a great tip!

This is a helpful overview of how backlinks signal trust, authority, and relevance to search engines. I like that it balances explaining why backlinks matter with practical, ethical ways to earn them organically instead of trying to manipulate rankings.
