SEO near me

My last post had to do with niche businesses and three tips for them to better optimize their sites. Something that every business (especially small businesses) should be aware of and take advantage of is the famous phrase “near me.” The rise of mobile technology has normalized the demand for instant gratification. People want what they want as soon as they can get it. In my personal searches, most of them end in “near me.” I would guess that searches like “coffee near me” or “gas near me” or “food near me” are some of the most searched terms on the internet.

For these incredibly localized searches, business need to focus on two important factors: reviews and location-based keywords. SEO focuses on trust and authoritativeness, if a company has good content and performs well, positive reviews should follow. Think about it, if you see a business with 5 stars and only 3 reviews and a company with 4.5 stars with 5000+ reviews, which one are you more likely to choose? Another factor to consider here is what the reviews actually say about your business. are you getting reviews like “good food.” or is your business the kind that generates reviews that talk about the service, the ambience, the staff, the location, etc. Serve your customers in a way that will make them want to write more and better reviews about you.

Location-based keywords are also huge here. Think about the difference between the search “coffee in Mercer” vs. “Coffee in Grove City”. The first would probably provide a long list of coffee shops ranging from distributors to Dunkin’. However, the second would probably be dominated by small companies like Collage or Beans on Broad. This reality is very helpful for small business trying to gain visibility.

These are great points! “Near me” searches are huge for small businesses, and focusing on reviews and location-based keywords can really make a difference. It’s interesting how much trust and visibility come from not just the number of reviews, but what customers actually say about your business.
