Marketing and sales are essentially serve the same purpose, both (as Mr. Van Eerden put it) “are an invitation.”
Mr. Van Eerden spoke in class about the 5 P’s of selling. I found this very interesting especially contrasted with the 4 P’s of Marketing.
5 P’s of Sales
- precision
- problem
- persistence
- predisposition
- purpose
4 P’s of Marketing
- product
- price
- place
- promotion
I think all 9 of these points play an important in driving a sale, as well as, enabling a more effective sales process.
I agree with Mr. Van Eerden that the 5 p’s of sales and the 4 p’s of marketing do connect with each other! When selling, we are essentially marketing for a business (hopefully in a positive way) and building great relationships is key. Great post
