My dad all of his live dreamed about one day owning a Porsche 911 targa. In 2019 he had the opportunity to finally order his own, his first and last big car purchase. We went to sewickly porsche and built a 2019 targa 4 gts manual. He had built it with a sky blue exterior and a borduex red interior. The sales person told him” i will not order this for you, this car has no resale value”. The dealer only likes to order very bland colors so that they could sell it to anyone. My dad had responded with ” I am not ordering this for the next person, i am ordering it for me” . The sales person said ” i do not care, you can order it in a different color”. He wanted him to order it in a black, white, or silver so if he backed out of the deal he could still sell it to anyone. This was after they denied us an allocation for almost a year when they ordered to themselves.
So, we decided after this to go to Porsche pgh 15 minutes down the road. A salesmen immediately greeted us with a friendly face and asked what we were looking for. We told him and he said we can do that for you. Within 10 minutes he gaves us the option of either ordering a car that has already been customized but not built. Or they can buy the last allocation for a 2019 targa 4 gts in the country from a dealer in texas for us. We chose to do that and we ended up buying the car that day. It really shows how treating people with respect and as a valued customer can go a long way. and how not doing so can have you
