A positive sales experience can go a long way in gathering new leads and creating repeat customers. At the bare minimum, a positive sales experience should be these six things:

  • Helpful
  • Informative
  • Low key
  • Low pressure
  • Customer-focused
  • Including good listening

If these six things are a part of a sales experience, the odds are it will have been a positive one! These positive sales experiences can go a long way in creating relationships and improving one’s craft as a salesperson.

  1. I like all the points you make here about how to make a more positive sales experience for the client. Good listening and being customer focused is the key to getting people comfortable with you as a seller. People do not like getting lectured to so by listening to them and letting them do more of the talking allows you to listen more and learn more information about the client so that you can meet the needs of them better.

  2. Hi Joshua, I think you’ve addressed some good points in your post. It’s important to remember that a positive sales experience not only has potential benefits for the seller but for the customer as well. By following the tips you’ve outlined above, one has the opportunity to build quality relationships, or, as Michael Scott from “The Office” says, “Create a win-win-win scenario.”
