Last summer, summer of 2019, I started my power washing business. I threw up 50 signs around the Grove City Area and with in a few days I was book for the next upcoming weeks. One of the first customers contacted me about cleaning their house, without knowing much about how to give a good estimate on a house, I nervously went and talked to both the husband and wife at the their house. I could tell right off that the husband really did not care and it was the wife that really wanted the job done. While walking around their house looking at what needed to be done, I was listening to them and once I started to talk and give my input I could tell that the wife could tell I wasn’t very experienced. The sale was going okay at this point but after looking around the house I gave them the estimate, it was way to high and the wife told me it was way too high by the emotion in her voice and her jesters. They told me that they would get back to me. The wife called me back after a week and told me that they decided not to give me the job. I had so many selling pointers that I took away from this sales experience. I learned that I need to know everything that their is to know about pressure washing before I presented myself to the customer. Also, this showed me to have the confidents in what I was doing and show the potential client the passion I had for helping them.

  1. Always a good thing when you learn from an experience. Also smart to get to know as much as you can about a market that you are about to enter so that you can compete effectively.

  2. Nice work! You can tell that you’ve grown a lot from that sales experience and that your business is finally flourishing! I can’t wait to see where Dudt P.W. goes!

  3. Great job! i think its awesome to be able to look back on sales experiences and finding what you did well and what needs work! i hope your powerwashing business takes off and hope if it gets big enough I’d love a job!
