When Pink talks about clarity, I think the importance of that idea is that it is focused on clarity for the customer. It isn’t a necessarily selfish idea to focus on your own clarity, but it primarily means clarifying others’ problems for them and helping them to work out their problems and find a solution. As a seller, you have all the information you need. There is rarely a gap where you are the one in the dark, and if you are in that situation, there is an issue. We need to help the customer as much as possible to be good problem-finders. We are not problem solvers, our products are. We need to be problem finders to figure out how to get our products to the consumer and if it will be the right fit. Using clarity to figure out the consumer’s true problem is essential to really finding if your product is right for them.

We don’t need clarity as a seller. We need to utilize clarity so our customers will be on the same page as we are. We are usually ahead if not equal, so we need to level the information playing field.
