As the famous quote by hip-hop artiste Big Sean goes, “Last night I took an L but tonight I bounce back”. One of the defining characteristic of a strong salesperson is their ability and response to rejection/failure. Failure presents an opportunity to learn and analyze our faults and take those lessons and apply on the next learning opportunity we get. Failure leads us back to the drawing board to re-strategize our approach. Also its important to state that the reason for failure does not always rely on our skill level or performance, numerous other factors could affect the success of a deal. The client could be having an off day, they might have already committed to a different service/product, your vision as a salesperson could just not fit with their current goals. So its important not to take failure as a representation one’s personal worth.
