Chick-fil-a has appeared to thrive during this time of quarantine during the Corona Virus outbreak. Although I cannot get specific data on how their business has been during this time in comparison to previous data, it does seem to be one business that has stayed ahead. Anytime I have seen a Chick-fil-a, there seems to be a long drive thru line. I personally have gone 3 times since the middle of March, which is more often than usual for me. How have they done this? Despite knowing people love Chick-fil-a in the first place because of their customer service and the amazing food, the fast-food restaurant seems to be exercising other secrets as well, in order to keep their business rolling. First, they have shown a lot of love for their customers to keep them safe at the risk of business. They have encouraged customers not to use cash, some stores going completely cashless, which is not in favor of business. They have installed outdoor hand washing stations which was not mandatory and came at a cost however they did it to keep everything extra clean. Because of this customers know Chick-fil-a will not be cutting corners and this makes people more comfortable in leaving their homes to get their food. Also, Chick-fil-a has donated over $10 million to communities to help them fight the virus. Their Instagram account has been as personal as ever, posting pictures of families who have gone miles to get their chicken sandwiches. I know this tactic has worked on me and made me not want to be missing out. So, I drove on study day with my siblings 45 minutes just for a chicken salad and lemonade. I asked myself why I was so willing to drive the extra distance? What was the appeal? Chick-fil-A has gona above and beyond to make the customer feel as though they are royalty. And one of Pink’s rules is to treat everyone as if they were your grandmother- and CHick-fil-A certainly has done this, treating us all as if we are in the high risk category of danger by being sure our service is done with the utmost care.

As someone who has worked at CFA and has a sibling in a managerial position, I can assure you that the numbers each day are roughly similar to what they did pull last year, which is impressive. Great writing!
Haha, I love the tie between Chick-Fil-A and Pink’s rule about treating everyone as if they were your grandmother! That is a very good summary of how they do their customer service!
