In my experience in being recruited to Grove City College for Football, I had the opportunity to sit down in a recruitment meeting with Coach DiDonato. After hearing him speak in class I am now able to look back on the meeting and look at some of the sales tactics that were used to help my come to Grove City.
The process started with a tour around campus to show me what Grove City had to offer from just a glance. This helped serve as some of the information gathering process for me before my meeting. This allowed me to be more well prepared with my knowledge of the school and feel at less of an information deficit when speaking to coach. In our conversation he controlled the conversation, however, I was doing almost all of the talking. As he described in class he asked me what I thought was important in a college. After listening to me he then elaborated on what was important to me for the rest of the conversation. This meeting did not seem staged or mechanical but was rather just a conversation between two people.
After the meeting another coach from the team continued to follow up with me and speak to me regularly to maintain that relationship. It was a very effective sales tactic in that I am here today because of what Grove City has to offer, but I would say more because of Coach DiDonato.
Hey there nice post. Sales can come in all forms including college recrutemtn once more professor understand this they will probably have more people come to their school this is very important nice post!
