In sales, you’re constantly communicating with a customer or potential lead to hopefully close a deal. The best salespeople are usually great communicators, ones who can easily connect with their clients and understand their point of view, which leads to an easy sales transaction. Coincidentally, poor communicators usually can turn away their clients by utilizing communication strategies that do not foster an environment that allows for a two-way dialogue. Here are a few ways where salespeople can improve their communication channels (the medium through which they communicate):

Prompt Responses

Whether it’s through email, a phone call, or a text, people expect a quick follow up. Today’s technology in society and culturally proves that anything that takes too long will not survive. Following up within a few days with a potential lead is an important first step in communicating with them.

Streamlined Channels

Email is great, but it’s tough to utilize an asynchronous channel to keep in touch with clients where things can easily get lost in the shuffle. Email is still incredibly important, but utilizing a more comprehensive system like Hubspot as a CRM system would be incredibly beneficial in streamlining communication channels.

Search for Inefficiencies

Study where things go wrong and where things get lost in the sales funnel. Something as simple as the way an office is set up can be a small but difficult roadblock to overcome if multiple people are involved in a sales process.
