The age of information has given many entrepreneurs a platform to sell their product, and brought people together in ways human history has never seen before. One of these people, Dan Lok, has taken advantage of this changing social environment, has dominated the online education industry. Born in Hong Kong in 1981, Dan Lok and his immigrant family moved to Canada in hopes to start a new life. Growing up was tough for Lok, his Father decided to stay in Hong Kong to work while Lok and his mother stayed in Canada, barely living paycheck to paycheck. During this time, Lok learned the valuable skills he needed in order to become a successful business person in his later future. Fulfilling a classic came-from-nothing story, after starting his 13th business venture, Lok finally struck success. Lok now runs a consulting venture, teaching eager and ambitious entrepreneurs how to sell. He’s on of Tedx’s top speakers, and makes millions teaching his ideas.
Dan Lok bases his platform on modern day selling, using empathy and story to sell your product. His motivational videos have gone viral, teaching sellers how to target their markets, and how to maximize your sales in these targets. His clients have been nothing but satisfied, the methods he teaches have worked for thousands of sellers, from start-ups to retail employees. Dan Lok is truly and inspiring sales teacher and the real deal in a world full of fraud.
The fact that Lok uses story telling to sell his products is really cool. I think story telling brings the imagination side of the business world to life. Many people think their product will do the work for them, but the story behind a product is crucial. I think this because one product can reach several markets depending on how the products story is told. That’s why I find it really important to understand your product and your target markets super well.
I have listened to one of Lok’s talks before, and I completely agree! He is a very engaging and inspirational speaker, and it is cool to hear him talk about the trials he had to overcome in his own life to become a successful entrepreneur. I think selling yourself, especially as an expert on a subject, can sometimes be difficult. However, he does a great job of positioning himself as an expert in his field and really selling his ideas.
