I love going to farmers markets and there is actually one right near my home that’s open every Friday. This magical famers market is called Green Dragon, and it’s located in Lancaster County. I loved going to Green Dragon every Friday, especially when it was summertime or after school with my friends. This farmers market has a bunch of vendors that have indoor and outdoor shops. There are over 100 vendors inside the buildings and even some temporary vendors outside every Friday.

Whenever I visit, I’ve always noticed how all the sellers are always usually nice and friendly. This is a great sales tactic because buyers like it when the sellers are nice and friendly instead of cold and mean. I’ve also noticed how for the famous Amish pretzel stand, they are still patient and kind towards their customers even when they have a hard time choosing which pretzels they want to buy. This is also a good sales tactic because it can be overwhelming to make a decision on what to buy, so having a patient seller who isn’t trying to rush their customer is important. I’ve also enjoyed how the Amish sellers have high quality baked goods, furniture, antiques, and so much more. It’s a good trait to sell products that aren’t low quality because everyone speaks highly of their merchandise and goods. At Green Dragon there is also a produce stand that sells local produce for a cheaper price than grocery stores, and a lot of customers love it because they’re supporting local farmers and getting a good deal on the produce. For some of the other vendors, they even give out free samples for their customers to try before they buy. I really like this idea because it can definitely be deceiving thinking you were looking forward to something and having it be something you didn’t want. Giving out free samples also helps them to get more of a crowd and have more customers who are willing to buy their products.

  1. Love the analysis! I’ve actually been to Green Dragon (and many farmer’s markets like it) and have never really had a bad experience with any of the vendors. They’re almost never pushy and sell products which are honestly and ethically marketed. It’s a fantastic example of customer-based selling at its finest!
