There is a certain Instagram influencer that I enjoy following because of her Hawaii island life and sweet family. A company, called Ghanda, had her advertise their clothing on her page and I was immediately interested after seeing her dress, went to their website, and brought $100 worth of clothing… Half impulsive half planned but nonetheless there is zero buyer’s remorse despite their catching me on the fly. They did several things right. First, although an Australian company, they work with American influencers because they know their market.
If you know anything about young ladies, there seems to bit a slight disproportionate amount of obsession with Australia- from their accents to their clothes to their kangaroos. Knowing American girls love Australia, Ghanda knows they have a great market in this demographic. IT is of utmost importance to know your customer in sales. This can lead you to knowing who to market to and how to market to them. Furthermore, I went to the website to purchase a dress, and ended up buy a couple shirts and a sweatshirt as well. They had a shipping policy that said in order to get free shopping (which is expensive being its Australia to Pennsylvania) you had to spend nearly $100. They had to know the balance of what is of value for customers and give them just the nudge they need. To do this, you have to know how much value you customer would put in your product.
Knowing your market is always huge and extremely rewarding! I will for sure check out Ghanda! Thanks for sharing!!
While i’ve never heard of Ghanda (most likely due to me not being a part of the target demographic), it seems like they really know their market. Great work!
This class has been cool to not only evaluate our selling, but to help us evaluate how other’s sell to us. Thanks for your reflections on being a customer of successful sales techniques!
