This last summer (2024) I decided that I wanted to work for Grubhub because wanted an easy summer job that utilized an easy skill, such as driving. So, after applying in April I started in May (once I was graduated the high school) then I began to do it. Now, being a food delivery driver was much more difficult than I thought, and amongst the many things it taught me, one thing stood out. What stood out was that I was part of their sales force. Now, while I do not go door to door trying to get people to but things, by definition I am dropping off what has already been purchased, I am finishing a sale that has been made. The sale being completed depends on the delivery driver, as they are needed to bring the food straight to the door, and since the marketing of Grubhub is to do just that, us delivery drivers are fully part of the sales process. I think, that knowing this makes doing the job feel more fulfilling.

  1. I also work as a delivery driver for Instacart every now and then, especially in the summers, and it is very customer based. Every part of the job depends on the customer getting what they need in an efficient and complete way, and seeing it as a sales position is crucial in fulfilling the task well.
