Leadership League is a Pittsburgh based company that works to find ways to spread God’s word in unexpected ways. As a business, they partner with major sports teams to give fans a unique way of interacting with players. They get to go on cruises with current and former players. Fans get to be on the same cruise, eating at the same restaurants, and enjoying the same incredible sights alongside some of their favorite athletes. Leadership league currently has 3 contracts with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Green Bay Packers, and San Francisco 49ers. There have been some very prominent names in sports to go on these cruises. This includes; Jerry Rice, Hines Ward, JuJu Smith-Schuster, James Conner, Antonio Brown and many more big names.
This year there are over 20 current and past players who will be cruising on February 17-21. The cruise is 4 nights and includes Nassau and Coco Bay in the Bahamas. There are many opportunities for private interactions with players on the cruise as well. Two of the most interesting opportunities are a dinner with a selection of players and you can also go to a private golf course in Nassau with Mel Blount and Donny Shell. Along with normal cruise events, Leadership League also has daily bible studies in the morning and even puts on a baptism opportunity on every one of their cruises. They attract people to the cruises with fun and excitement, but they also encourage cruisers to explore all opportunities aboard the ship. This is where they hope to show them God in unexpected ways.
Leaderships League’s business if definitely unique. It is really interesting to have an experience with who are usually unreachable. This provides experiences that many fans would never get to experience. The company focuses on selling the experience to the customer and does everything to ensure the best possible vacation. It will be interesting to see how this fan-celebrity interaction expands into other industries and affects how companies go about selling experiences
This is very interesting, I have never heard of this before. I know some people get really excited when they see celebrities, and it puts them in a open attitude which is perfect when trying to spread the gospel. This way of selling is also seen on television where celebrities are promoting certain products or services, but this kind of interaction is very different. I agree, it will be interesting if this is adopted in other sectors of sales.
