Her son Richard was named CEO of Mary Kay Cosmetics in 2001 after his mother’s passing. The company had more than 3 million consultants worldwide and the wholesale volume was more than 3 billion. Mary Kay was honored as the leading female entrepreneur in American history. Her well-known quote “Everyone has an invisible sign hanging from their neck saying. ‘Make me feel important.’ Never forget this message when working with people,” is a quote that is still relevant today.
