One of the first classes I took my freshman year was technology for the entrepreneur (or something close to that name). It was my first real impression of learning the intricacies of what tool entrepreneurs commonly use to do things like get their name out there, sell their products, or in some cases the product itself was being made with the app or website we were being taught to use. This class consisted of taking the first couple of weeks to familiarize ourselves with tools like Canva, GoDaddy, and some high level uses of PowerPoint. After we had gained a sufficient knowledge on how to properly use these tools, we were tasked with creating a sample product that we would go through the sales process with. I decided to make t shirts with team slogans on them as my product. The first step of our project was to make the sample product in custom ink. We were then tasked with gathering up a group of our friends, show them the product, and ask for their feedback on it. I got good feedback on the product so I started the next step of the project, making a website on GoDaddy. This consisted of making a logo on Canva to add to the website, deciding the general aesthetic I would go for, and adding the product to the website with the ability to purchase it. After all these steps were complete i was left with a taste of what the average entrepreneur goes through when making and selling g their product. This class was invaluable in helping me gain knowledge on how to do things like interacting with potential customers, creating a clean storefront, and observing different markets to see what types of products would be profitable. I took this class the first semester of my freshman year but I still remember it and look back on it fondly as one that really got me into entrepreneurship.

  1. I have also taken this class and found it helped me expand my skillset. You get to learn how to make different designs through a bunch of different platforms and put them to work. In this class we made our own t-shirt line in a pretty short amount of time. I believe this class shows you how you have to adapt on the fly and what it looks like to be an entrepreneur.
