The world of sales is forever changing in order to keep up with the times. As we discussed in class the biggest and main reason for sales to always be changing especially lately is the affect the internet has on sales. For most of us, we have experienced the joy and even thrill of buying something online. I personally enjoy buying things online more because you do not have to deal with the teenage retail salesman at your local store. The ability to just buy something at the click of a button just creates some sort of thrill that most Americans prefer than having to interact with a person in a store. Granted it is always better to see something in person to be certain that you like it. When I am purchasing a large item, I will usually go into the store to look at it before I spend a lot of money. However as many of us do, I will go to look at the item in the store and then proceed to buy it online for a much better deal. Multiple times I have gone to a store to look at an expensive item just to get a in person look at it, with no actual intent on buying it. Recently I purchased a new headset from amazon, however I was unsure of which headset I would like so I went to BestBuy to try out different headsets in person before purchasing a pair online.
I went to BestBuy to try to find the best headset for me and what I wanted to use it for. When I got to the section a salesman immediately came over to see if I needed any assistance. He was very helpful with telling me what specs each of the headsets had and the pros and cons of each for what I wanted to use them for. I knew in my head that no matter what I was not going to buy any of the headsets in the store that day, but I needed to go there to be sure that I would like them in person. Even with the price match guarantee that they offer I still wanted the simplicity of ordering from amazon. This is a challenge that will most likely continue to grow for salesman and that they will need to over come in order to continue to complete sales.
