Dealing with this virus isn’t easy for anyone, but it’s especially difficult for some people more than others. More than ever before, businesses today have been rallying to find ways to help the world in any way they can using the resources they have. Here are some great examples of what businesses are doing to support people during this time.
One great example is Vessi, a sneaker brand. Not only have they been giving away free sneakers to health care workers, they also decided to drastically cut the price of their shoes to give people a little boost during this time. Additionally, they started to make face masks (thousands of them!) and deliver them where they are needed.
Another example is one local to me, called Southern Tier Brewery. Although they’re not open right now like they usually are, they’ve created a recipe (is that the right word? concoction?) for hand sanitizer. They are now using all of their facilities that to make hand sanitizer that they sell to the public – all proceeds are going to our local food bank.
My last example is Daisy Cakes Cake Pops, located in Kent, Ohio. This company makes (super tasty) cake pops, and they were so inspired by how Ohio’s leaders have responded during this time of crisis that they turned these leaders into cartoons for their cake pops! In addition to this honoring their very own leaders, they are also donating all profits from these sales to charities.
While we can all agree that a global pandemic is not what we want for the world, I believe that good can come from bad. I’ve seen good in the way businesses are donating money and efforts to show their communities that they care?
What does this have to do with sales? This is exactly what the sales process is all about! Finding pain and offering what we can to alleviate that pain. For possibly the first time in our lives, we are all experiencing the same pain. These businesses (and many more) see that pain, and are offering what they can. Be sure to thank your local health care workers, and buy some cake pops!
Wow! You found some great exampled of businesses and their specific ways that they are dealing with COVID19. I think this is an awesome post and really shows people that all companies have very different ways that they handle sales and their customers!
I liked this example of companies adapting their sales procedures. COVID-19 will change the landscape of sales after it is contained and we may see a big shift from traditional sales.
