I recently accepted an internship position for the summer. I’ll be working for a marketing consulting company that helps schools of choice with their enrollment. A school gives them a goal and the company creates a marketing strategy. I’m excited about it because my major is exactly this kind of job.
I know the leads from the company. I contacted them and scheduled a meeting. I the meeting by affirming the time that we had scheduled. Then I began asking questions. Because I was the one being interviewed I also had to answer questions but I had less difficulty than I thought maintaining some level of control over the conversation. I walked through a number of my personal concerns and learned about their expectations all by asking questions.
The interview went very well. I’ve got the job!
This is a great application of what we learned in class. Taking control of a conversation is key. Excited to hear you got the job!
