Speak the truth and keep your promises
Make sure to do something if you promised someone else that you would do it. If you say you will follow up with them at a certain time, be sure to call earlier than that time. Be sure to get contracts and reports together when you said you would. Keep the potential clients updated on the deal’s progress and what is happening behind the scenes.
If there is a delay, let them know or they will not understand when something is not done at the time you appointed. Potential clients may handle delays differently and setbacks differently but it is important to be transparent with them so that they trust you.
Trust is how you build relationships of any kind. Do not lie about what a product can and cannot do and do not over promise on what you cannot deliver on. The truth will come out eventually and you will become untrustworthy in the eyes of other potential clients.
Good stuff Kyle, A customer will never buy if they can’t trust you. Building trust is so key in sales
