There is a chance some of you know, but if you don’t the title kind of gives this away. My great grandpa on my mom’s side invented Perry’s Ice Cream. Many people don’t believe me because my last name is Weber, but like previously stated it is my mom’s side so she took my dad’s last name. Harrison Morton Perry is the inventor of Perry’s ice cream, my middle name is named after him (Harrison). The story goes that he was a milk delivery driver and one day his milk and cream got mixed together while delivering milk to the local school. He arrived with ice cream instead of milk and was able to sell it to the Akron school district. Perry’s ice cream factory is still in Akron today and is ran by people in the Perry bloodline.
Perry’s has celebrated their 100th year anniversary this year. I thought it was really cool when I came to Grove City and saw that they served Perry’s ice cream. Perry’s is in NY, and Pa, and sells 12 million gallons of ice cream a year.
