A couple years ago now my father and I decided we wanted to get a Last Call Dodge Challenger. 2023 was the last year they were making them and it also happened to be the 50th anniversary of my fathers 1973 Challenger that he had in high school. We spent tons of time building it on the website trying out each color and option. We had everything pretty much picked exactly the way we wanted it, the only thing left to do was to go to a dealership and order it. For the Last Call, Dodge decided to change up the way you order a little bit. Now each dealership was allocated only so many trim levels. So you had to find a dealership that still had what you wanted available to order. We were pretty early so we had plenty of options left.
However, my father being my father went to each of the Dodge dealers around us to try and find the best deal. Which was harder than it should of been. Out of the five or so dealers only one really expressed any interest in ordering a Challenger with us. Victory Dodge which was only ten minutes from us ended up being the best option. Not because they had an amazing deal, but because they were the only dealer that expressed interest and excitement in what we wanted to order. The sale was already made before we walked in the door. The only thing they had to sell us on was trust and that they wanted to hear us. For whatever reason the other dealers did not “read the room” as we recently talked about in class. Failing to see how easy of a sale they had in front of them.
