This past weekend Super Bowl LIX occurred where the Kansas City Chiefs were defeated by the Philadelphia Eagles in a final score of 22-40. The Super Bowl is a large attention captivator for the American people. In a prediction indicating the number of viewers of this year’s Superbowl was 117.3 million. Since the Superbowl is America’s most watched TV event businesses and brands take advantage of this for business and sales. I wanted to look specifically into how sales are increased within businesses because of the Superbowl.

The Superbowl brings a lot of economic activity because of advertising revenues, ticket sales, merchandise, food and beverage revenues, music industry revenue and so much more. The price of tickets for the game is an extreme number of sales. The amount of food and beverages purchased at the football stadium as well as for all the viewers at home is extremely significant as well as the amount of merchandise purchases.
An average ad in Super Bowl 2025 for thirty second advertisement will be $8 million, which is predicted one million more than 2024. With all of these different sources of revenue and spending
related to the Super Bowl it is important to consider the major impact that marketing has to such a broad audience through the viewing of the Super Bowl. Companies realize the significant amount of the American population that tunes in to watch the Super Bowl and they have to decide how they will spend money to gain attention and reach their market by utilizing this opportunity. Sales have been notable to increase because of successful Super Bowl advertising campaigns. There are many viewers of the Super Bowl that specifically watch for the commercials. This is amazing for sales also because if the viewers are this engaged, they are seriously likely to buy into what the advertisements are promoting. The Super bowl is a gold mine for marketers and sales businesses need to assess their role they can play and understand how they can best gain from the event. The Super Bowl is extremely impacted by sales.
Its always interesting to see how companies use the Super Bowl to advertise, as it is truly one of, if not the highest viewed pieces of streamed media in America.
I always find it interesting how companies who are still somewhat new into their market and may not have to immediate funds to fund a 30 second commercial, will spend the money to get their brand out there. Obviously, a very effective way to get your brand in front of millions of people, but I always thought “what if they just spent 8 millions dollars and their business doesn’t expand much at all?” Then that could be a major problem especially if they don’t have the immediate funds to pay for a 30 second commercial.
