Hello fellow classmates!! Professor Sweet often talks about introverts, extroverts, and ambiverts. Take some time to watch this video and let me know how many of these you relate to.
Personally, I relate to the “you balance other people out” point.
Essentially, when other people talk a lot, I tend to get quieter, but when other people are quiet, I get progressively louder. (unless I’m comfortable around you, in which case I am usually on the louder side)
I think this can be a good character trait for sales because I can be flexible around people and adapt to the type of person I’m selling to.
Now I want to hear about you all! What do you relate to the most and how can that help your sales experience?
Before coming to college and into Freshman year, I had always recognized myself as an extrovert. However, recently I have found myself to be more introvert. It was cool taking the test in class to find out that I am an ambivert and posses a little bit of both interovert and extrovert in me.
I never heard the term ambivert before sales class and after I learned it, I feel that I am one myself. I had always considered myself an introvert because I like having some alone time, but I also like to be sociable every now and again.
I’m similar to you in that I feel like it depends on the situation I’m in. Sometimes I feel super introverted, but other times, I feel like I can go up to anyone and talk for hours and be loud. In a way, thinking of that in terms of being an “ambivert” is helpful long-term, but I also think it’s good to keep the words “introverted” and “extroverted” around, just because they’re helpful for describing short-term feelings.
