From the past 8 years that i have been DJing i for the most part never thought of my self as salesmen at all. But over the past few years i have learned that one of the most important parts of being a successful DJ. Selling you as the product and the services that you provide is one of the most crucial parts to having a successful DJing businesses. You don’t even have to be the best DJ out there, you just need to know how to sell your self. The way to do that today which i am currently adapting to is having high quality pictures and videos of the services i offer. This is going to take a while, and is long over due. Before that, i managed without it.
I focused on painting the image of the product, a perfect wedding, where no one is sitting around and not dancing. I provide all MC services flawlessly and will announce the names of the grand entrance, and i pride my self on affordability and the song choice i have to get people dancing. and after i get the sale, i ensure that i deliver that promise to the t. and thankfully i have done so with every wedding that i have done. Because of this, and the work that i have done at other events, the results of work also helped me sell. Word of mouth and the testimonials people give to other’s about my services have by far carried me. But if i want to expand i will have to start getting videos and maybe even vlogs of my gigs to really show case my product.
The new way to get to people and form that relationship or even start it is social media, that is how you reach people and even build some sort of a relationship. It sound’s weird at first but then you realize that followers of people on social media platforms really do know the personality. After my years of operating through old fashion way, i not only realized that i need to start filming my services but i need to start social media to promote and sell the brand and the image.
I really like how you said you focused on the idea of painting a perfect picture for a wedding or anything you would provide your services to. I think by being able to explain your ultimate goal for the event makes the customer comfortable.
