I had a really good sales experience as a buyer when I bought my Fiance’s engagement ring. When I first walked into the store I was greeted at the door by a salesperson who was very friendly and welcoming. The first thing he asked me was what brought me into the store today, so I told him I was looking for an engagement ring for my girlfriend but that I wasn’t quite sure exactly what type I wanted yet. He let me browse around the store until I found something that I was interested in and showed it off to me and explained to me every minor detail he knew about the product. I left the store that day with a much better idea of what I wanted to buy and I had the intent to come back and make a final decision.

I returned to the same store 2 days later and the sales guy I had spoken to previously was in the same spot ready to greet me again at the door. He asked me again if he could help me with anything and I said I had narrowed down my options to 3 different rings, and that I wanted to see each one of them again. He once again showed me each ring and explained the details about them in the same way he did the first time which made me trust his knowledge much more. I finally made my decision based on the info the sales guy gave me, and I felt confident in my purchase!

Throughout this process I felt understood and valued as a customer. Based on what we have learned from this class so far, the sales guy asked appropriate questions and provided me with an answer to every question I had. We both left the sale with something that we both wanted and were satisfied with the interactions we had. I expected the sales guy to be pushy and itching for me to make a purchase because he earns commission, but he was not. Not having pressure to buy right then and there and being free to look at or ask any question I wanted honestly influenced my decision to buy a ring from him even more.
