Think about the verbs to sell and to act, they are very similar. They are similar because verbs require action, which, by their nature, bears with them the possibility of failure. Success at anything requires nerve and a base nature of tenacity. You have to be okay getting knocked down and failing in the pursuit of success, because if you are not okay with this simple truth you will never have the courage to continue when it is not easy.

Now don’t misunderstand me, all men fail in life at some point or another. We all have terrible days which drain us of our energy and rob us of the success which we desire. The key to finding true success on these days is to move from one failure to the next opportunity without the lose of energy or enthusiasm. So the future remains in the decisions we individuals make every single day. Will we, as a species, accept the possibility of losing to take hold of the possibility of winning?

  1. Often times in a business situation to pursue the possibilities of succeeding we must risk failure. It is our job to become fluent in these situations so we can know if the risk is work the possibility of failing.

  2. This Sandler’s rule was definitely a great reminder than failing in a role is not something that you should take as a personal failure but a way to become even better.
