In high school, I was on a private robotics team. This team was not funded or backed by a school, which meant we needed to fundraise to support the team. Fundraising often involved selling our team to potential investors. Some of the sales tactics we used included bringing a live demonstration of our robot to show people who we wanted to get involved. We would also give a presentation describing our organization and everything we participate in. Our investors almost always had a referral from a team member or mentor which seemed to be key to securing funds.
